Pilates is an educational and exercise approach that is done with and with out apparatus. The aim is to improve flexibility and strength while creating balance in the body. Attention is paid to the entire musculoskeletal system with focus on using proper body mechanics, trunk and pelvic stabilization, coordinated breathing, and muscle contractions to promote strengthening. Our Pilates trainers are trained in the STOTT PILATESĀ® method and are experienced in working with clients of all ages and physical abilities.

STOTT PILATES is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joesph Pilates. Co-founders Moira and Lindsay G. Merrithew, along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals, have spent over two decades refining the STOTT PILATES method of exercise and equipment. It incorporates modern exercise principles, including contemporary thinking about spinal rehabilitation and athletic performance enhancement. In addition, there are more preparatory exercises and modifications to cater to many different body types and abilities, making it applicable to everyday life.

One on one training sessions are available using mat, reformer, cadillac, ladder barrel, and stability chair.

Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual discipline that dates back 5,000 years. Yoga promotes overall physical and mental well being and potential benefits include improved range of motion, decreased stress, and reduced pain. Through yoga you can become more mindful, bring the body into balance and reduce stress. A yoga program can help you transition back into your daily life, routines and exercise classes with a better awareness of how to take care of yourself.

*Still Water does not have an active Yoga program at this time, please check back for updates*
